چکیده

The phenotypic characterization of cacao (Theobroma L.) plays an important role in the generation information for conservation germplasm. objective this study is to characterize phenotypically 146 ecotypes fine-aroma native (FFNC) from northeastern Peru that were collected 280 1265 metres above sea level. Morphological descriptors fruits and seeds, sensory characteristics, productivity used. data obtained analyzed using descriptive statistics with pie charts, distribution histograms, multiple correspondence analysis. results showed 76.7% cocoa had green immature fruits, 73% slight roughness on surface fruit, 54% intermediate thickness fruit wall, 90% appearance pairs equidistant ridges. Regarding seed 71% purplish cotyledons, a high presence floral fruity notes low levels bitterness astringency. Likewise, 52% 64% seeds long. More importantly, beans needed produce between 14 16 pods obtain one kilogram dry cocoa, which reflects good level productivity. Finally, there was positive relationship elevation fine-flavoured i.e., greatest diversity found 501

Genetic characterization of atypical Mansonella (Mansonella) ozzardi microfilariae in human blood samples from northeastern Peru.

DNA sequence comparisons are useful for characterizing proposed new parasite species or strains. Microfilariae with an atypical arrangement of nuclei behind the cephalic space have been recently described in human blood samples from the Amazon region of Peru. Three blood specimens containing atypical microfilariae were genetically characterized using three DNA markers (5S ribosomal DNA, 12S rib...

Aroma characteristics of cocoa tea (Camellia ptilophylla Chang).

Three types of Cocoa tea, green, oolong, and black, were prepared from fresh young leaves of Camellia ptilophylla. Their aroma characteristics were compared by a sensory evaluation with corresponding traditional tea samples made from C. sinensis. The aroma profile of Cocoa green tea was quite different from that of traditional green tea, but fermented Cocoa oolong tea and black tea showed aroma...

Dengue Virus Serotype 4, Northeastern Peru, 2008

In 2008, dengue virus serotype 4 (DENV-4) emerged in northeastern Peru, causing a large outbreak and displacing DENV-3, which had predominated for the previous 6 years. Phylogenetic analysis of 2008 and 2009 isolates support their inclusion into DENV-4 genotype II, forming a lineage distinct from strains that had previously circulated in the region.

Isolation and genetic characterization of a hantavirus (Bunyaviridae: Hantavirus) from a rodent, Oligoryzomys microtis (Muridae), collected in northeastern Peru.

This paper describes the isolation and partial genetic characterization of a hantavirus from a pygmy rice rat, Oligoryzomys microtis, collected within the urban area of Iquitos, Loreto Department, Peru. The virus, designated HTN-007, exhibited the highest degree of genetic similarity to Rio Mamore virus, which was originally described from the same rodent species in eastern Bolivia. Comparison ...

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of Candida species isolated from candideamia in Iran

Background and Purpose: Candidemia is one of the most important fungal infections caused by Candida species. Infections and mortality caused by Candida species have been on a growing trend during the past two decades. The resistance of yeasts to antifungal drugs and their epidemiological issues have highlighted the importance of accurately distinguishing the yeasts at the species level. The tec...
